Born in Lima on November 16, 1953, Diana Anglade has been drawn to wood working and painting from the time she was a child. Together with her husband, she formed a workshop in 1980, perfecting the techniques he taught her. She describes her efforts as a work of great feeling, finding inspiration herself when others discover the love and beauty with which she infuses each piece.
"All my life has been a challenge," she tells us. "All my achievements come from tears, sweat and much work. I have never felt afraid at all to start over, naturally, with God's help."
Although she has not participated in competitions, Anglade was awarded the prize for quality in the International Houseware Show in Japan in 2000; her works have been exhibited at Chile's Viña del Mar Craft Fair in 1986 and the Peruvian Gift Show in Lima in 2002.
For many years now, her oldest son has joined her in what is almost a family tradition, discovering the benevolence of the materials, transforming wood and glass into works of art.
